Management of SBE Conference Series changes hands

The Sustainable Built Environment (SBE) series of conferences began in 2000, operates on a three-year cycle and is operated by a small number of international organizations including:

* International Council for Research and Innovation in Building and Construction, CIB, www.cibworld.nl;
* International Initiative for a Sustainable Built Environment, iiSBE, www.iisbe.org;
* International Federation of Consulting Engineers, FIDIC, www.fidic.org;
* UN Environment Programme, UNEP, www.unep.org

News update: World SBE23 conference

Plans for the World SBE23 conference in Montreal are on track. The WSBE23 event is the next global event in the sustainable built environment (SBE) international conference series and is jointly sponsored by McGill University, University of Montréal and the Palais des Congrès de Montréal. The SBE series operates on a 3-year cycle, and is managed on behalf of SBE partners iiSBE, CIB, UNEP and FIDIC by Dr. Wim Bakens. The last World event was held (virtually) in Gothenburg in November 2020.

Professor Michael Jemtrud (McGill) has provided the following update on plans for the 2023 event.
...The organizing team is meeting bi-weekly to move things forward and things are progressing. We are in consultation with Sweden and other stakeholders to assist in the organization.

Taipei launches 2018-20 SBE conference cycle

The current cycle of the SBE conference series was well launched in Taipei on 14 October, at the National Taipei University of Science and Technology (NTUST). The conference, formally called the 2018 Conference on Innovative Low-Carbon and Green Buildings in Subtropical Areas (ILCGBS), was very well organized under the leadership of Dr. Cheng-Li Cheng, who is Dean of the Design College and also President of the Architectural Institute of Taiwan.
