Abstracts for WSBE17

Please note that there are only two weeks left to submit abstracts for the World SBE17 conference, to be held in Hong Kong on June 5-7, 2017. This will be a major international event, organized by Hong Kong Green Building Council, with strong support by local industry and the Government of Hong Kong. The conference is the culmination of the current cycle of SBE conferences operated by the partnership of CIB, iiSBE, UNEP-SBCI and FIDIC. See the attached PDF instructions on how to submit your abstract.

SBE16 conferences in Hamburg, Malta and Utrecht

Since our news item about the Torino conference, we have participated in three more: Hamburg during 8 to 11 March, Valetta Malta during 16 to 18 March, and Utrecht, Netherlands during 6 to 8 April.

Detailed reports for all these are being prepared and will be posted as soon as they are ready. But in general terms, these were very well organized and had excellent keynote presentations and technical papers. Mercifully, I don't have to go anywhere during May...

We can now provide our notes on the Hamburg SBE16 event - see attached.

UPDATE: iiSBE short survey for COP21

UPDATE: We have completed the pilot survey and you can download a copy of the report.

iiSBE staff have developed a survey in anticipation of the COP21 meetings in Paris. iiSBE has no official status at that huge and important event, but we will have some access to the outer circle of civil society groups.

The purpose of the survey is to solicit views from our key members and contacts on the possible measures that could be implemented in their regions to reduce the impact of the built environment on climate change. The results will be analyzed and a short report prepared during November.
